Phra Athit Road is located along Chao Phraya River. It is known for its bars and artsy restaurants and shops. There are shops and houses from the turn of the last century. It is surrounded by the river pier, a riverside park, ancient fort, and restaurants and bars with live music such as pop, rock, and Jazz.
Phra Athit Road has flourished since the establishment of Bangkok in King Rama I era. It has been a center of government, art, and culture of Thai people. It is lined along Chao Phraya River starting from Thammasart University's gate at Tha Prachan to Phra Sumen Fort. Along both sides of the road, there are palaces and houses that were architecturally designed and decorated in Pre-Rattanakosin style.
